Mini-Workshop: Week 5

Join us from 9-11am for a mini-workshop at our Research & Demonstration mini-farm!

Each session includes a garden tour, demonstration of skills and techniques and an opportunity to to get some experience practicing those techniques in the garden.  Each week focuses on one or more specific Grow Biointensive principals.

Week 5: Open Pollinated Seeds & Seed Saving

We'll be discussing the difference between open-pollinated, heirloom and hybrid seeds, the advantages for each type, and how crops can be adapted to our local climates.

Following the discussion we'll be harvesting some mature seed from the garden and demonstrating how to thresh and winnow seed for storage for winter eating and spring planting!

Hope we see you there!
