Grow Biointensive Workshop - Soil Preparation and Management
Join us for an educational and skill-building workshop at Future Heirlooms - a Grow Biointensive Research, Education and Demonstration mini-farm.
Our workshops are designed to empower participants with the knowledge and basic skills needed to establish a Grow Biointensive garden at home!
Every workshop features discussion, demonstration and the opportunity to practice and skill build new techniques!
Week 1 -Soil preparation and management- Monday July 12th from 6pm to 7 pm
This week’s workshop is focused on the principles and techniques used to create ideal soil structure in the garden, as well as soil testing, organic amendments and watering technique.
During the workshop we’ll touch on the following topics:
Grow Biointensive Principle #1 - Deep soil preparation
Double digging
Tools of the soil trade
The importance of soil tests
Balancing soil chemistry
Watering techniques for the East Kootenay Climate
All ages welcome, attendance by donation with all proceeds going to the Kootenay Society for Sustainable living in support of ongoing research, education and demonstration at the Future Heirlooms garden.

We encourage participants to leave pets at home, however we are pet friendly. If you have no other options please keep pets leashed during the duration of your visit.
