This Asiatic barley is among our top 3 producers here at Future Heirlooms. The fastest seedling growth we’ve seen to date, Himalayan barley is very prolific, hardy, fast to maturity and very high yielding.

This variety was among the most resilient during an extreme cold event in the spring during initial variety trials, when seedlings were only 4” tall; with 100% survival in -8c temperatures.

We’ll be selecting for higher number of tillers in the coming years to further increase yields.
