Tvensburg rye grows between 7-8’ tall, averaging 15-20 tillers with very average seed heads and grain size.

We plant Tvensburg in the fall and like Sangaste finishes quickly; usually by mid August. Our current Tvensburg rye is 4th generation, and yields 10lbs of dry gain and 40lbs of dry biomass per 100sqft. We have been primarily selecting for tillering, with standout individuals having 30 tillers.
