Belford, Barley

CA$5.00
sold out

A hulled awnless 6 row barley developed on the West Coast in the 1940’s.

Additional Info:

-Hulled

-3” grain heads

-42” tall

-Great for forage, feed

-Very cold tolerant

Belford produces a unique looking plant with above average height and yield. As a hulled barley it is better suited for cover cropping, feed and forage purposes for mini-farmers.

Belford was susceptible to lodging and required support, and was also prone to straw breakage with tall hollow thin walled straw. We are curious to know how Belford will do in your micro-climate compared to ours!
