Bronze Arrow, Leaf Lettuce
This incredible oakleaf lettuce is very slow to bolt - so slow that we’ve had trouble producing seed in our short growing season!
After 3 years of trying (and failing to get mature seed before kill freeze), we finally succeeded in overwintering plants, which promptly regrew and flowered the next year - making it a sort of biennial!
We have overwintered plants 3 years running - superior cold tolerance!
These seeds were reproduced from a unique heirloom line from Northern California, and are unique in their cold-hardiness and extreme resistance to bolting.

Bronze arrow has an incredible ability to resist cold - with the ability to change the coloration of it’s leaves depending on the temperature. When cold and frosty, plants turn dark burgundy, and when temperatures rise the leaves slowly turn bright green; often showing a mixture of both colors. Beautiful!
